Concept & Background
Created for Grange Park Opera’s 2026 season programme for Wagner’s Das Rheingold. The image builds a symbolic landscape around the opera’s characters. The opera house represents Valhalla and the surrounding world is entirely imagined. Animals stand in for characters: Wotan as a stag, Loge as a fox, Alberich as a serpent, Rhine Maidens as otters, giants as bears, and Freia as a deer.
