Concept & Background
Islands of Learning – Panel 1 is the first part of a mural designed for Varndean School’s reception area. The mural illustrates the school’s values through a journey across five islands, each representing a year group. Inspired by Japanese woodblock prints, it incorporates patterns, words, and drawings symbolising the school’s learning activities.
