Concept & Background
This piece captures the view from my back window in Patcham during lockdown, with a network of suburban gardens and the South Downs on the horizon. Influenced by 1950s and 1960s children’s illustrators and woodcuts, it depicts silent streets and neighbours gathering in their gardens.
